Christian and his team have been hard at work marking hundreds of scalloper locations out on the water and interviewing almost 200 groups of scallopers back at the boat ramps since the season opening on June 25th to assess the effects of recreational bay scallop fishery on marine turtles.  Work continues for a little bit longer looking at patterns of use outside of the scallop season and finishing up habitat and turtle work. More in depth analyses of all of the data collected this year will be conducted this winter to explore how scallopers affect marine turtle movements. We would like to thank the Sea Turtle License Plate Grant for partially funding this project: www.helpingseaturtles.org.
